Violence in close relationships – and violence against women in particular – is a serious social and health problem with major consequences worldwide.

About the conference

20 years ago we saw the need for a common meeting place for professionals working in the field of violence. The first Nordic Conference on Violence and Treatment was established as an arena for learning, dialogue and development.

Since then, more than 7,000 participants have attended the conference, and many have returned year after year. This testifies to a continuing need for knowledge sharing, professional in-depth study and community.

The Nordic Conference on Violence and Treatment is unique in a European context. No other conference has a similar comprehensive focus on treatment and help for both victims of violence and perpetrators of violence.

The goal remains the same: to inspire, strengthen professional practice and contribute to breaking the legacy of violence in our societies.
